Awarding of Flight Engineering, UAV Pilot, Fighter Controller and Air Gunner Badges

A Fighter Controller officer, a UAV Pilot, three (03) Flight Engineers and fourteen (14) Air Gunners received their badges from the Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy on 09 August 2017 at Air Force Headquarters.

The Fighter Controller (Officer) received his badge after successfully completing fighter control training at Bangladesh Air Force.  The UAV Pilot (Officer) received his badge after successfully completing UAV Pilot training at SLAF Base Vavuniya.

Flight Engineers (2 Flight sergeants and 01 Sergeant) pinned on their badges after successfully completing the Flight Engineering Training in AN -32, C 130 and MI-17 Aircraft at SLAF Base Ratmalana and SLAF Base Anuradhapura.  Fourteen Air Gunners (2 Corporals and 12 Airmen) of the 13th Air Gunner Course conducted at SLAF Base Hingurakgoda and who completed the basic Air Gunner's Training in Bell 212 aircraft received their badges.

The Director Air Operations Air Vice Marshal SK Pathirana, Director Grounds Operations Air Vice Marshal KFR Fernando, Director Aeronautical Engineering Air Commodore MD Ratnayake also attended the ceremony.
