The Defence Attaché of United States of America in Sri Lanka, Lieutenant Colonel Douglas Hess paid a visit to Air Force Headquarters on 15 August 2017 and met with Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy.

Official plaques were exchanged between the visitor and the Commander of the Air Force to mark the occasion.
