SLAF Women shooter AW/3429 LAC Mekala AT has been selected for the Sri Lanka team participating at the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) World Shoot Championship XVIII - 2017 in Chateauroux, France from  26 August 2017 to 02 September 2017.

AW Mekala a Supplier by profession joined the SLAF on 08 August 2012 and has been a member of the SLAF firing team since August 2014. She has participated at several National and International shooting championships and displayed outstanding performances bringing glory to the Air Force and the Country as well.

The IPSC World Shoot is considered the highest level handgun match in the competition.
