The Commander of the Air Force Visited 1st Negombo Air Scout Group

The Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy, himself a past Scout of Nalanda College, visited the 1st Negombo Air Scout Group during the 2nd session of AOC’s inspection at SLAF Base Katunayake on 25th August 2017.
The Commander visit to the Air Scout den and its environs outside of the itinerary of the AOC’s inspection, was the first time in history when a Commander had visited the scout den in this manner.
The Base Commander, SLAF Base Katunayake Air Vice Marshal Prasanna Payoe, Group Scout Master SLAF Base Katunayake Squadron Leader Merinas Perera, Warrant Officer of the Air Scout Group, other staff of the Air Scout Group and one Air Scout patrol were present at the Air Scout area at the arrival of the Commander.
This Air Scout Group den is situated in front of the Hospital Ground at SLAF Base Katunayake. Though representing different religions, cultures, areas and schools the Air Scout Group functions as one groups under one flag.
