Pacific Air Rally Cruising for the Forth Day

The 4th day of the PAR commenced today at Jetwing Blue, Negombo on three fronts. They were namely the CPX, the Medical SMEE and the Engineering SMEE. The CPX commenced with a presentation on civil/military operations center. Furthermore, the participants of the CPX were tasked to carry out a practical exercise on the topic of "Introduction of Personnel and Cargo Increments And Phase 1-4 Prioritization". Moreover, the CPX participants were lectured on "Aircraft Airdrop Methods and Drop Zone Considerations", which was conducted by the USAF Aircrew.

At the same time, the Civil Engineering SMEE continued with the participation of USAF and the SLAF personnel. Today’s session discussed and shared knowledge on Airfield Assessments in a post disaster scenario, Electrical Systems, Power Systems and Airfield Damage Repair in HADR situations.

Adding to the forth day PAR 2017, The Medical SMEE consisted of tabletop exercises during the morning session. These exercises covered topics such as Dengue outbreak in the region and Airplane Crash scenarios. In the afternoon session the participants of the Medical SMEE were moved to the Base Hospital at SLAF Base Katunayake where they engaged in assembling a W.H.O tent, practice patient moving using different carrying technics and litter configurations review. All took part in this exercise with much enthusiasm.

Finally, the FTX component of the PAR is expected to carry out para troop deployment and cargo aerial delivery at SLAF Station Ampara on, 15 September 2017 which will be the final day of PAR 2017.
