780 Men and Women Pass out from Diyatalwa

A total of 640 trainees from the No. 145th Regular Airmens Recruit Course, No. 103rd Volunteer Airmen Course and 140 trainees from the No. 21 Regular Airwomen Course passed out today (26th May 2010) after completing 14 weeks of challenging training.
The training focused on drill, weapon training, tactics, field craft, map reading, fire fighting, explosive handling, Humanitarian Law, Air Force Law and Combat First Aid.
The Training Wing was established to conduct basic training to Officer Cadets and recruits, advanced Regiment Training for Officer Cadets and Drill Instructors and Weapon Instructors courses for Non Commissioned Officers. This Ground Training wing was established in 1951 and it is the first training establishment of Sri Lanka Air Force.
The Parade was commanded by Squadron Leader Ravi Goonetileke (Chief instructor Recruit training), Parade Adjutant was Flight Lieutenant Yohan Somawansha (Training Wing Adjutant) and Parade Warrant Officer Flight Sergeant Attapattu WA.
The Chief Guest was Chief Provost Marshall Air Commodore S Rambukwella.
