The Closing ceremony of the second Finishing School programme in SLAF was held on 16 October 2017 at Helitours Training Centre SLAF TTS Ekala.

This finishing school programme was conducted on a concept of the Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy.

Chairperson SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit Mrs. Anoma Jayampathy graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and gave away the certificates and gifts to the programme participants and the instructors.

18 participants of the programme passed out which included 14 daughters of serving and retired service personnel, and 4 trainee air women.

Acting Director Welfare Air Commodore PDA Mariestella, Commanding Officer SLAF TTS Ekala Group Captain Jude Perera, Officers and other ranks participated the event.

The Next Finishing School program is scheduled to be held in January 2018 as a weekend program for eight consecutive weekends. Subjects that will be covered are Social etiquette, Art of communication, Beauty culture, Social dancing, cookery, sewing and personal hygiene. Daughters of serving and retired service personnel who have completed G.C.E O/L and G.C.E A/L can apply for the programme.
