Annual Pirith Chanting Ceremony at SLAF Base Rathmalana

The annual Pirith Chanting ceremony at SLAF Base Rathmalana was held on 17 October 2017 followed by an almsgiving for 50 members of the Venerable Maha Sangha on 18 October 2017 at the newly constructed Base HQ Building, SLAF Base Rathmalana.

The ‘Reliquary’ (Karaduwa) was taken to SLAF Base Rathmalana in a colourful procession and placed in the ‘Pirith Mandapa’ by the Base Commander of the SLAF Base Rathmalana Air Cdre RP Liyanagamage. Subsequently an all night pirith chanting and alms giving was accorded to the venerable Maha Sangha on Wednesday.

The Officers, other ranks, civilian staff and families of SLAF Base Rathmalana participated in the all night pirith chanting ceremony and the almsgiving.
