Inter Unit Squash Championship 2017
SLAF Base Ratmalana won the Inter Unit Squash Championship 2017 beating
SLAF Academy China Bay at the Air Force Health Management Centre (HMC),
Colombo on 29 November 2017.
The Champion SLAF Base Ratmalana team consisted of Warrant Officer WMRP Fernando, Flight Sergeant Kumara ACCP, Sergeant Chandana RPM, Corporal Tharaka KK, LAC Wimalarathana MGPD, LAC Jayasooriya JRASM, Mr. SW kumara Silva.
The Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force
Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Air Force Board of Management, Chairman SLAF Squash Air Commodore SD Kotage, Officers and Other ranks were also present at this event.The Open tournament was conducted under five categories, namely Men’s over 35, Men’s over 45, Men’s Open, Men’s Novices and Women's Novices. The results of the open tournament are as follows:
Men’s Over 35
Winner - Squadron Leader KAASK Munasinghe (Tech Formation, SLAF Base Ratmalana)
Runner Up - Mr. SW Kumara Silva (SLAF Base Ratmalana)
Men’s Over 45
Winner - Group Captain DRW Jayawardane (SLAF Station Colombo)
Runner Up - Group Captain AN Wijesiriwardana (SLAF Station Colombo)
Men’s Open
