SLAF Hospital Colombo marked a significant milestone when it carried out its first ever  Orthopedic Surgery  on 10th January 2018.

Two cases of Orthopedic Surgery were successfully completed by a surgical team consisting of Dr. K. Karunarathne (visiting consultant Orthopedic Surgeon at Sri Jayawardhanepura Hospital Kotte), Dr. Pandula Hanangal Arachchi (Consultant Anesthetist), Group Captain PAV Padmaperuma (Commanding Officer SLAF Hospital Colombo), Wing Commander GSS Perera, Wing Commander TVSS  Alwis,  Squadron Leader PD Rajapaksha  and the theater staff of SLAF Hospital Colombo.

The operation theater of SLAF Hospital Colombo commenced its inaugural surgeries on 25th January 2016 and has completed more than two hundred and fifty cases of minor and intermediate surgeries up to date.
