Disaster Management Search and Rescue Dog Course Certificate Award Ceremony

The Air Dogs Unit SLAF Katunayake held its No 01 Disaster Management Search and Rescue Dog Course Certificate Award Ceremony today (12 January 2018 ) under the patronage of Group Captain SN Fernandopulle, Commanding Officer of SLAF Station, Bandaranayake International Airport. The Commanding Officer Air Dogs Unit Wing Commander PPH Pinnagoda too attended  this event along with the other Officers.
 
The primary objective of conducting this course is to enhance the skills and knowledge of Dog Handlers for active participation during national disaster situations in order to protect and rescue the human lives and to assist SLAF disaster response teams to face natural and man-made disasters effectively. The course ran through a well formed syllabus over a scheduled period of 24 weeks. There were 05 Air Dogs and Dog Handlers who followed the course successfully.
