The No 9 Attack Helicopter Squadron celebrated its 23rd anniversary by constructing a new house to a deserving family in Galoya, Hingurakgoda area. The house was completed and handed   over on 28th January 2018 with the participation of the Base Commander of SLAF Base Hingurakgoda Group Captain VB Edirisinghe, Commanding Officer No 9 Attack Helicopter Squadron Wing Commander KMSPB Kulathunga and squadron personnel.

The house was presented to the beneficiary, Mrs. W Dammika, a mother of five children whose husband has left her.  The completed 3 bedroom house includes all amenities including proper sanitary facilities and common utilities.  Further, No 9 Attack Helicopter Squadron personnel also donated complete furniture and bedding items. Well wishers and Divisional Secretariat, Hingurakgoda provided material requirement of the project.
