SLAF Contributes to 'Pibidena Polonnaruwa'

Adding its contribution to the “Pibidena Polonnaruwa” initiative of HE the President, Maithripala Sirisena, the Sri Lanka Air Force undertook a number of construction projects in the Polonnaruwa District.
On the 31st of January, the Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force, Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy, and the Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit Mrs. Anoma Jayampathy with the participation of Mrs. Chathurika Sirisena laid foundation stones for the construction of two houses in Bubule and Aralaganwila and for a Pre-School Building at Bakamoona. Base Commander of Sri Lanka Air Force Base Hingurakgoda Group Captain VB Edirisinghe, Officers and other ranks were also present at the ceremony.
On 02 February 2018 Group Captain VB Edirisinghe, on behalf of the Commander, laid the foundation stone for the construction of a “Grameeya Pragathi Shalawa” at Ambagaswewa.
The Air Force has also undertaken to renovate and tile the class room and laboratory building of Sinharajapura Kanishta Vidyala, a school established in 1934 by the Hon DS Senayake.
