Solid Waste Disposal Management (SWDM) Programme
An awareness programme was conducted for all General Service Quarter (GSQ) occupants at SLAF Station Colombo on 24 Feb 18 at 1000 hrs.
The programme consisted of lectures on SWDM project and a stage drama conducted by a team from SLAF Trade Training School Ekala.
At the end of the programme 120 Organic Waste Disposal Bins were distributed to mark the first awareness programme conducted for the GSQ occupants at Guwanpura and Kollupitiya.
Command Quality Assurance Officer Air Commodore Ranjith Senanayake and many senior officers and their family members, airmen and their families residing at Guwanpura were present for the event. The staff of Officer Commanding Station Services in Colombo Squadron Leader Suresh Fernando and personnel of the Command Quality Assurance Inspectorate assisted and distributed the solid waste bins designed for organic food waste management.
This program was carried out under the guidance of the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Colombo Air Commodore Waruna Gunawardana.
