The newly constructed Assembly Hall of Himidurawa Maha Vidyalaya, Ampara was declared open by the Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy 03 March 2018.  The commander attended the program during his visit to SLAF Station Ampara for the opening of the Air  Tattoo 2018.

Construction work of the Assembly Hall of Himidurawa Maha Vidyalaya was carried out by  SLAF Station Ampara under the guidance of the Commanding Officer SLAF Station Ampara Group Captain HWR Chandima and the project was funded by the Command Welfare Fund.
