Handing Over of 02nd House Under 'Commander’s Housing Project'
Second house constructed under the "Commander’s Housing Project” by the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit was handed over to AW/01952 LAC Madushani MS (Ground Stewardess). The House Warming Ceremony was held under the patronage of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy and the Chairperson of SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit Mrs. Anoma Jayampathy at Kaluthara today (15 March 2018).
The beneficiary, whose father and brother are both disabled and unable to function without assistance, was selected by the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit considering the plight of her family and with a view of providing a measure of relief to a family who is deserving.
This project was funded by the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit and construction was carried out by Civil Engineering Wing and SLAF Station Katukurunda. Overall project was completed under the supervision of the Directorate of Civil Engineering.
Director Civil Engineering Air Vice Marshal MRK Samarasinghe, Commanding Officer SLAF Station Katukurunda Group Captain Mohan Balasuriya, Officers, other ranks and representatives from SVU were also present at the ceremony.
