Certificate Awarding Ceremony of Catering Assistants’ and Ground Stewards’ Basic Courses

Under the direction of the Director of Logistics of Sri Lanka Air Force Air Vice Marshal Sagara Kotakadeniya and on the supervision of the Commanding Officer Sri Lanka Air Force Station, Sigiriya Wing Commander Chinthaka Alwis, the Certificate Awarding Ceremony of Catering Assistants’ and Ground Stewards Basic Courses was held at the Hospitality Management School, Sri Lanka Air Force Station, Sigiriya on the 22nd of March 2018.
This event is traditionally held on completion of every course with the participation of all trainees, Officers, Other Rank Instructors and the personnel serving therein, in recognition of training achievements.
The Commanding Officer Number 02 Supply and Maintenance Depot Sri Lanka Air Force Base Hingurakgoda, Wing Commander Bimal Weerawardana graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The General Manager Sigiri Village Hotel, Mr. Anthony Perera and the Resident Manager Elephant Corridor Hotel Habarana, Mr Sydney I David also graced the event.
The Commanding Officer of the Station Wing Commander Chinthaka Alwis, the Chief Instructor Hospitality Management School Flight Lieutenant Dulantha Cooray, All Officers and Other Ranks of the Station were also present. 23 ground stewards and 38 Catering Assistants were awarded the certificates at the occasion.
The trophy for the Best Student of the Catering Assistants’ Basic Course was awarded to Leading Aircraftman Sampath RLLAS and the trophy for the best student of the Ground Stewards’ Basic Course was awarded to Air Craftwoman Amarajeewa BMSM.
