SLAF Assists Fire and Rescue Drill at Central Bank

The Fire and Rescue Unit of the Sri Lanka Air Force assisted in a fire and rescue drill at the Central Bank of Sri Lanka in Colombo on 27 March 2018.

29 SLAF personnel participated in the Fire Fighting and Rescue Exercise under the supervision of SLAF Chief Fire Officer Group Captain MPS Marapperuma.

The SLAF fire fighters demonstrated several rescue tactics such as aerial rope rescue and high angle rescue using the turn table ladder and showed their Hazmat response capabilities. The Governor of the Central Bank Dr. Indrajith Coomaraswamy also witnessed the event.

 

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
