121st Birth Anniversary of General Sir John Kotelawala
The 121st Birth Anniversary of General Sir John Kotelawala, the third Prime Minister of Independent Sri Lanka and the benefactor of General Sir John Kotelawala defence University fell on 04thApril, 2018.
A commemoration ceremony was held at General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University in memory of this great son of Mother Lanka with the participation of Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy, the Commander of the Air Force, as the Chief Guest.
The Chief Guest paid a floral tribute to the statue of the Late General Sir John Kotelawala and also made the commemoration address in which he highlighted the yeoman service rendered by Sir John for the benefit of Sri Lanka.
Rear Admiral Jagath Ranasinghe, the Vice Chancellor of the KDU, Major General Indunil Ranasinghe, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Defence and Administration), Senior Professor Jayanatha Ariyarathane, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), close relatives of Gen Sir John Kotelawala family, Academia, non-Academic Staff, Officer Cadets, Day Scholars and a large number of distinguished invitees participated.
