No 4 Squadron Celebrates 53 Years Of Service To The Nation

The No 4 VVIP Helicopter Squadron celebrated its 53rd Anniversary on 1st June 2018. The celebration started with a charity project at “Sarvodaya Suwasetha Transit Home for Children” on 26th May 2018. The squadron carried out renovations on essentially required locations across the Transit Home and the project was successfully concluded with an offering of breakfast and gifts for the children on 31st May 2018.
The formalities of the formation day started with a working parade which was reviewed by the Commanding Officer Wing Commander KADAC Kuruwita. Speaking to the members, he elaborated the vital role the Squadron has performed for the last 53 years and emphasized the importance of sustaining high standards in all aspects as the VVIP Helicopter Squadron. He also congratulated all personnel of the Squadron for rendering a remarkable service.
The celebrations were concluded with a friendly Elle tournament with the participation of all personnel in the Squadron. The event was graced by the presence of the Base Commander of SLAF Base Ratmalana, Air Commodore Ravindra Liyanagamage.
