Civil Engineering Wing SLAF Base Katunayake, Celebrates 15th Anniversary

The Civil Engineering Wing at SLAF Base Katunayake, celebrated its 15th anniversary on 13th June 2018.
CEW presently consists of 19 Civil Engineering Officers and 1487 airmen trained under various disciplines in the field of Civil Engineering. Further, CEW is established to undertake all the major construction and renovations in the Sri Lanka Air Force and the State sector as planned by Air Force Headquarters.

The formation day celebrations began with an address of bythe Commanding Officer, Wing Commander MBCD Muthuthanthri. This was followed by a Volleyball Tournament held with the participation of all service & civil personal at the “Hut Area” of SLAF Base Katunayake.

Further, a Blood donation campaign was held at the SLAF Hospital at Katunayake on 07th June 2018 as a part the Formation day celebrations. A total of 161 volunteers participated in this worthy event, organized by the CEW in collaboration with SLAF Hospital at Katunayake, and the General Hospitals at Negambo and Ragama .

 

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
