An all night pirith chanting ceremony followed by an Alms Giving for 100 priests was held at Sri Lanka Air Force Station Ekala  to invoke blessings on all SLAF personnel who died whilst in service. This being annual event was held at SLAF Station Ekala on the 03rd and 04th    July 2010.

All night pirith chanting ceremony  was followed with an Alms Giving for 100 priests. Approximately 2000 persons including family members of the deceased personnel, Officers, Other Ranks and Civilian Staff  attended both ceramonies.
 
All the Civilian Staff, Other Ranks and Officers of Sri Lanka Air Force Station Ekala and the Director of Welfare under the direction and guidence of the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Air Force, were largly responsible for the planning and organising of the ceramony. Commanding Officer SLAF Station Ekals and all Ranks on the Station were responsible for all arrangements and organising of the event.
