SLAF Station Ekala secured both Mens (31 points) and Womens (28 points) Championships at the Inter Unit Weight Lifting Championship which was concluded recently (01st July 2010) at SLAF Station Ekala.

SLAF Base Ratmalana (09 points) and SLAF BIA (27 points) became the runners up in men and women categories respectively.

64 male and 17 female competitors took part under 08 weight classes. Leading Aircraftsman Ranasinghe and Leading Aircraftwoman Bandara of SLAF Ekala  were adjudged as the best weight Lifters in their category.
Two new  SLAF records were established in the Weight classes of 52Kg by Aircraftman Chathuranga,Air Woman Jayarathna and in the 60 Kg  by  Aircraftman Wimalasena, Air Woman Bandara.
 
Director Logistic Air Commodore TMPD Thennakoon graced the occation as the chief guest.
