Passing Out Parade Of Officer Cadets, Lady Officer Cadets, Airmen and Airwomen Recruit Courses At SLAF CTS Diyatalawa

The Passing out Parade of No.62 Intake Officer Cadets Basic Ground Combat Course, No.14 Intake Lady Officer Cadets Basic Ground Combat Course, No. 166 (A) and 166 (B) Regular Airmen Recruit Course, No.36 Regular Airwomen Recruit Course, No 129 Volunteer Airmen Recruit Course, No 12 Volunteer Airwomen Recruit Course and No 34 Direct Entry Airmen and Airwomen Recruit Course was held at Sri Lanka Air Force Combat Training School Diyatalawa this morning (29th June 2018).
The Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force, Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The Chairperson of SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit Mrs. Anoma Jayampathy, members of the Air Force Board of Management, Commanding Officer SLAF Combat Training School Diyatalawa, Air Commodore Peterson Fernando, Senior Officers and a large number of invitees from the SL Army, SL Navy and SL Police were also present at the occasion.
A total of 64 Officer Cadets from the No 62nd Intake of Officer Cadets and No 14th Lady Officer Cadets Intake along with 761 Airmen and Airwomen passed out from the SLAF Combat Training School Diyatalawa today. The Commander addressed the new entrants during the parade and emphasized the fact that the SLAF with a proud history of 67 years is now gearing up to face future challenges with the “Vision 2025” and with a comprehensive “SLAF Doctrine”, published for the first time in the history of the Armed forces of Sri Lanka.
The passing out parade was followed by a colourful band display performed by the Air Force Band. A Drill display, and Bayonet Assault display was performed by the passed out trainees, which was witnessed by the parents of the trainees’ and well-wishers of the Sri Lanka Air Force.
