Commander’s Inspection of SLAF Base Hingurakgoda

The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy conducted the Commander’s inspection at Sri Lanka Air Force Base Hingurakgoda today (07th July 2018).
Prior to the inspection proper, the Commander reviewed the Commander’s Inspection Parade commanded by the Base Commander of SLAF Base Hingurakgoda, Group Captain VB Edirisinghe. The following service personnel were awarded commendations during the parade.

During the course of the inspection the Commander visited all areas of the Base including Base Headquarters, No 07 Sqn, No 09 Sqn, No 02 S&MD, No 25 Regiment Wing. The Commander declared open the Renovated Officer Cadets’ Mess, Accommodation area of Search & Rescue Special Operation Squadron, Pre School Teachers Rest Room.
The Commander also joined the customary all ranks lunch at the Airmens’ Mess with a cross section of Officers, Airmen, Airwomen and Civilian staff.
Concluding the Commander’s Inspection, the Commander addressed all ranks including the civilian personnel at the No 7 Squadron. During his address he encouraged all to strive for excellence and also expressed his appreciation for all the hard work expended by all members of the Base towards maintaining and uplifting the standards of the Base to the highest standards.
