Sri Lanka Air Force Station Batticaloa launched a Reforestation Campaign

In line with the initiatives made by the Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy, the Sri Lanka Air Force Station Batticaloa recently completed the Reforestation Campaign target of 5000 saplings at Sippimadu Unnachchi area recently.

The inaugural planting of sapling project was commenced on 21st May 2018 under the patronage of Commanding Officer of Sri Lanka Air Force Station Batticaloa, Wing Commander Sanjaya Vithana, officers and other ranks also attended for the event.
 
The Sri Lanka Air Force took the lead role in launching the Reforestation Campaign in a few selected forests around the island as a pilot project in 2018. This project covers an approximate area of five hectares in Sippimadu. Sri Lanka Air Force Station Batticaloa undertook the project in collaboration with Regional Forest Office at Unnachchi.

 

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
