Sri Lanka Air Force took a good start to the Clifford Cup Knockout Rugby Tournament by beating Police 11- 06 yesterday (16th July 2010) at the CR & FC grounds.

Air Force Full back Radhika Hettiarachchi converted 2 penalties to put the Air Force in the lead. After 2 penalties by the Police, Air Force Wing three Gayan Iddamalgoda scored a try at the 29th minute to continue the lead over the police.

During the second half both teams displayed an aggressive rugby, but failed to score.

Director Health Services Air Vice Marshal NH Gunaratne graced the occasion as the chief guest.
