Under the guidance of Director Air Operations, Air Vice Marshal SK Pathirana, the Fire and Rescue Service of the Sri Lanka Air Force assisted in a fire and rescue drill at KDU Hospital Werahara on 28 September 2018.

Officer I/C Fire SLAF Stn Cbo , Squadron Leader RND Senadheera and SLAF Fire Fighters participated in the firefighting and rescue exercise under the supervision of the Chief Fire Officer of the SLAF, Squadron Leader CP Hettiarachchi.

The SLAF Fire fighters demonstrated several rescue tactics and high angle rescue using the turn table ladder. The Fire Officer of the KDU Hospital, Squadron Leader KMPL Patabadige was also present for the event.
