Under the directions of the Director of Logistics of SLAF, Air Vice Marshal HMSKB Kotakadeniya and under the supervision of the Commanding Officer SLAF Station, Sigiriya, Wing Commander DCDB Alwis, the Certificate Awarding Ceremony of Catering Assistants and Ground Stewards Basic Courses was held at the Hospitality Management School, Sri Lanka Air Force Station, Sigiriya on 8 October 2018.

This event is traditionally held on completion of every course with the participation of all trainees, Officers, Other Rank Instructors and the personnel serving therein, in recognition of training achievements.

Procurement Officer (Foreign), Procurement Division at Air Force Headquarters Colombo, Wing Commander Prageeth Samadasa graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The Commanding Officer of the Station, Wing Commander Chinthaka Alwis, the Chief Instructor Hospitality Management School, Flight Lieutenant Dulantha Cooray, All Officers and Other Ranks of the Station were also present. 20 Ground Stewards and 13 Catering Assistants were awarded their certificates at the occasion.

The trophy for the Best Student of the Catering Assistants’ Basic Course was awarded to Aircraftman Madumadhawan KGD and the trophy for the Best Student of the Ground Stewards’ Basic Course was awarded to Aircraftman Pushpakumara MDCP.
