The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy, conducted the Commander’s Inspection (1st Session) of Sri Lanka Air Force Base Katunayake today (11 October 2018).

Prior to the inspection proper, the Commander reviewed the Commander’s Inspection Parade commanded by the Base Commander of SLAF Base Katunayake, Air Vice Marshal Prasanna Payoe. Certificates of commendation were awarded to 2 Warrant Officers, 11 Senior Non Commissioned Officers, 8 Corporals, 4 Airmen and 1 civilian during the parade for their meritorious contributions to the Base in particular and to the Air Force in general.

During the course of the inspection the Commander visited Sector I area of the Base. The inspection of remaining areas of the Base will be continued tomorrow (12 October 2018).
