In recognition of his work on the War Memorial for Sri Lanka Air Force, TTS Ekala, a Design Award of Merit was presented to the Chartered Architect Jayanath Silva (the designer of the project) by Sri Lanka Institute of Architects.

The Award was presented in the category of Civic Buildings during the Inaugural Architects' Awards Ceremony 2018 which was graced by the Architect Marina Tabassum (Bangladesh-Aga Khan Award Winner in 2016) as the Chief Guest at the Hotel Hilton yesterday (13 October 2018).

The Director of Civil Engineering of the SLAF, Air Vice Marshal MRK Samarasinghe and SLAF Architects also attended for the event.
