The tenth and eleventh houses constructed under the "Commander's Housing Project" by the Sri Lanka Air Force Seva Vanitha Unit (SVU) were handed over to Sergeant Gunathilake (Disabled) and the family of Leading Aircraftman Weerasinghe WADN (Deceased) respectively. The House Warming Ceremonies were held under the patronage of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy and the Chairperson of SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit Mrs. Anoma Jayampathy at Pilessa and Kavisigama today (23 October 2018).

 
Both projects were funded by the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit and construction was carried out by Civil Engineering Wing and SLAF Base Katunayake. The overall project was completed under the supervision of the Directorate of Civil Engineering.
 
Director Civil Engineering, Air Vice Marshal MRK Samarasinghe, Base Commander of SLAF Base Katunayake, Air Vice Marshal MDAP Payoe, Officers, other ranks and representatives from SVU were present at the ceremony.
