Dengue Prevention Campaign In Slave Island

Sri Lanka Air Force Station Colombo in collaboration with the Army, Police and the Colombo Municipal Council launched a dengue prevention campaign in SIave Island area on the morning of 31st July 2010.

The main focus area was Withana Mawatha, Wekanda consisting of 1200 houses and a population of 37000. Four people in this area had fallen prey to dengue in the recent past.

Around 500 personnel from the Air Force, Army, Police and CMC took part in this operation from 8 am to 3 pm.

This campaign was Commanded by the Officer Commanding Sector III Security zone, Wing Commander Vajira Jayawardana.
