The Non-Commissioned Officers Management School of SLAF Academy China Bay held its No. 5 English Medium and No.76 Sinhala Medium Non Commissioned Officers’ Management Courses Award Ceremony yesterday (21 December 2018) under the patronage of the Chief Instructor Air Wing, Defence Services Command & Staff Collage Sapugaskanda, Air Commodore CB Labrooy who graced the occasion as the chief guest.

The primary objective of conducting this course is to transfer sound academic and managerial knowledge while sharpening the leadership qualities within the Non Commissioned Officers of the Tri-Forces. The course ran through a well-formed syllabus over a scheduled period of 11 weeks. Both courses were affiliated to the University of Rajarata and all Non Commissioned Officers who fulfilled the required criteria were awarded with a certificate in Management. The No. 5 English Medium and No. 76 Sinhala Medium Batches comprised of 34 Senior Non-Commissioned Officers and 47 Junior Non-Commissioned Officers of the SLAF, 1 Senior Non-Commissioned Officer of the SL Army and 2 Senior Non-Commissioned Officers of the SL Navy. At the Ceremony 84 awardees received certificates to mark the successful completion of the courses.

Sergeant Fonseka HFAI (Accounts Assistant) was adjudged as the Best All-Rounder of the No. 5 English Medium Course while Flight Sergeant Duminda GCM (Safety Equipment) and Corporal Chathurangika JADH (Admin Assistant) were adjudged as Best All- Round Senior and Junior Non Commissioned Officers respectively of the No.76 Sinhala Medium Course.
