Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy declared open the newly constructed Station Headquarters Building at SLAF Station Weerawila today (12 January 2019). This Station Headquarters has been constructed under the concept of the Commander of the Air Force.

The project was completed within a very short period by Air Field Construction Wing at SLAF Base Rathmalana under the supervision of Directorate of Civil Engineering.

The Director Civil Engineering, Air Vice Marshal MRK Samarasinghe, the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Weerawila, Group Captain DRAB Warakanga, Officers of the Directorate of Civil Engineering, Officers and Other Rankers from Weerawila were present for the opening ceremony.
