Sri Lanka Air Force fire fighters based at the Fire and Rescue Unit at the Sacred Temple of the Tooth doused a fire which broke out at the Temple of the Tooth area at 16.45 hrs on 22nd January 2019.

The skilled and experienced fire fighters of SLAF managed to douse the fire with minimal damage to equipment and to surrounding buildings. The team of fire fighters was led by Squadron Leader WAEE Samaranayaka and 04 fire fighters with a fire vehicle.
