A New Officers' Mess Building for SLAF Base Ratmalana

The newly constructed Officers’ Mess Building at Sri Lanka Air Force Base Ratmalana was declared open by the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathi yesterday (4 February 2019). The new building will house the Dining Hall, Ante Room, the Bar, Ladies Room, Billiards Room and a State of the Art Kitchen and will also have a VIP Suite.
The construction project was carried out by the Air Field Construction Wing at SLAF Base Ratmalana. The Project Architect was Squadron Leader VAPTV Arachchi and Project Site Engineer was Flight Lieutenant OS Maginnarachchi.
The Chief of Staff, Air Vice Marshal Sumangala Dias, Members of the Air Force Board of Management, the Base Commander of SLAF Base Ratmalana, Air Commodore RS Wickramaratne, Senior Officers of Ratmalana and the Civil Engineering Crew were present for the opening ceremony. The Commander extended his appreciation to the Engineering Crew and the Base Commander for a job well done as the new Officers’ Mess Building stood tall as one of the finest of the SLAF.
