Defence Services Defeat SLRFU President’s XV

The combined team from Defense Services clinched an outstanding victory against the Sri Lanka Rugby Football Union President’s XV 39 to 10 at the Army grounds on Thursday 05 August.
Defence Services scored 07 tries of which only 02 were converted to reach the 39 points whilst President’s XV had only a goal and penalty each to their name.
Defence Service team dominated the field from the start of the match from start to end and had little difficulty in breaking through their opponents to mark their victory with a whopping 29 point lead.
Jayantha Ranaweera, Milinda Jayasinghe, Pubudu Kodagoda and Chanaka Chandimal representing the Sri Lanka Air Force scored 04 out of the 07 tries.
HE the President Mahinda Rajapaksha graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and gave away the coveted Presidents Trophy awarded to the winners.
