New Four Storied Building for Airwomen of Diyatalawa

A new fully furnished four storied Accommodation Building for Airwomen was completed and declared open by the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy today (9 March 2019) fulfilling a long felt requirement.

This facility constructed under the supervision of Directorate of Civil Engineering is intended to accommodate Airwomen who are in the posted strength of the School and also other Airwomen who are attached to the School for various service compulsions in future.

The SLAF Combat Training School Diyatalawa conduct a number of training courses which frequently consists of many female trainees other than Basic Airwomen Recruits ranging from Airwomen Drill/Gunner Instructor, Airwomen Trade Examination I, Physical Training Instructor (Advance/Basic) Courses. As such it has prolonged requirement to accommodate permanent Staff Airwomen comfortably in order to ensure an ideal and smooth atmosphere for them.

The event was witnessed by the Director Civil Engineering AVM MRK Samarasinghe, Commanding Officer of Combat Training School Diyatalawa, Air Commodore WWPD Fernando, Officers and the Other Ranks of the School.
