5:55pm on Monday 9th August 2010
A colourful art and handwork exhibition by preschool children of Sri Lanka Air Force Base Vavuniya was organized on August 6 at the school premises.
The works of eighteen little artists were showcased at the exhibition which was conducted by the preschool staff as a special activity in the second term. The event focused on developing the talents and interests of their young charges, whose handiwork showed that even at a young age they had a keen sense of creativity and colour.
Using various forms such as collages, painting and even papier-mâché, the children worked on a wide range of themes from animals and ships to beetles and party food!
The Base Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force Base Vavuniya, Air Commodore KFR Fernando attended the function as the Chief Guest.
