The No 6 Helicopter Squadron celebrated its 26th Anniversary on 15th March 2019. The celebration included a number of Community Service Projects and religious ceremonies. The working parade was held on the 15th of March and was reviewed by the Commanding Officer, Wing Commander Priyamal Fernando.

The Formation day was conducted with a multi-religious ceremony, an Inter Squadron Elle Tournament and a gathering of Tusker family members including the air Warriors who contributed to Squadron in the past.

In addition to the activities of the Formation day, a blood donation campaign was conducted at camp premises on 25th February 2019 and a Dansal Programme was conducted at Ruwanweli Maha Seya on 9 March 2019. An identified remote school located at Nallamudawa in Anuradhapura district was supported with renovation of a school building, setting up an Information Technology Unit, distribution of exercise books and providing of assistance to children and teachers in parallel to the anniversary celebration.
