SLAF Assist to Conduct Fire and Rescue Drill at Central Bank

The Fire and Rescue Unit of Sri Lanka Air Force conducted a fire and rescue drill at Central Bank of Sri Lanka in Colombo yesterday (28 March 2019). This event was organized as a joint operation with Colombo Fire Brigade.
33 SLAF personnel participated in the firefighting and rescue exercise under the supervision of the Chief Fire Officer of the SLAF, Wing Commander RMCJK Ratnayake and Incident Commander Wing Commander RND Senadheera.
The SLAF Fire fighters demonstrated several rescue tactics such as using rope for rappelling. Further, they also displayed their firefighting and Hazmat response capabilities. The Director Security Service of the Central Bank, Major General Athula Jayawardhana (Retired) also witness the event.
