The Sports 1st Allianz Platinum Awards 2018 got underway at Stein Studios in Ratmalana on (29 March 2019). The award ceremony commends and recognizes Sri Lanka’s talented sportsmen and women.

Sports Men and Women from the Sri Lanka Air Force were also honoured at the gala event. The National Netball Team led by Flight Lieutenant Chathurangani Jayasooriya, Sergeant Sureka Kumari, Sergeant Thilini Wattegedara and Corporal Dulanga Dhananji were honoured with the award for the Best International Team. Corporal Dinusha Hansani Gomas was honoured with the award for the Female Military Athlete of the Year Award.

The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy attended the event and also participated in the awarding as well.
