Civil Engineering Wing at Katunayake Celebrates 16th Anniversary

The Civil Engineering Wing (CEW) at SLAF Base Katunayake, celebrated its 16th anniversary yesterday (13th of June 2019).
The CEW, established to undertake all the major construction and renovations in the Sri Lanka Air Force and of the State Sector as planned by the Air Force Headquarters, presently consists of 20 Civil Engineering Officers and 1637 airmen trained under various disciplines in the field of Civil Engineering.
The formation day celebrations began with a static Working Parade and an address by the Commanding Officer Wing Commander MBCD Muthuthanthri. This was followed by an evening religious "Bana programme" and "Osu Pan Dansala" held with the participation of 450 service & civil personnel at the Buddhist Temple of SLAF Base Katunayake.
Further, a Blood donation campaign was held at the SLAF Base Hospital Katunayake on the 07th of June 2019 as part the Formation Day celebrations. A total of 100 volunteers participated at this worthy event organized by the CEW in collaboration with SLAF Base Hospital Katunayake, and General Hospital Negambo.
