Commander's Inspection of SLAF Station Morawewa

The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sumangala Dias conducted the Commander’s Inspection of SLAF Station Morawewa today (27 June 2019).
The day’s proceedings commenced with the reviewing of the Commander’s Inspection Parade which was conducted for the first time in the History of SLAF Station Morawewa. The parade was commanded by the Acting Commanding Officer, Wing Commander HMT Nandaka Kumara.
Sergeant Premakumara APM (Operations Ground) and Leading Aircraftman Wijerathne MS (Operations Ground) were awarded Commendations by the Commander for their outstanding dedication towards the SLAF. During the inspection the Commander visited all areas of the Station including the newly built Visitors Room of the Station Guard Room. The Commander also declared open a newly constructed Transit Room of the Warrant Officers and Senior Non Commissioned Officers’ Mess. The Commander also took the time to plant the first plant of the Fruit Cultivation Project of the Station conducted in collaboration with the Hadabima Authority.
Addressing all personnel of the Station after the inspection, the commander expressed his appreciation of their hard work in maintaining the Station up to the required standard. An All Ranks Lunch marked the conclusion of the Inspection.
