Sri Lanka Air Force Station Colombo in collaboration with the Army, Police and the Colombo Municipal Council with the assistance of the people launched a dengue prevention campaign in the SIave Island area on the morning of the 14th of August 2010.

The main focus area was Kew Street where large numbers of people reside. During the recent past Dengue had claimed the life of one person in this area.

Around 400 personnel from the Air Force, Army, Police and CMC took part in this operation from 8 am to 3 pm.

This campaign was commanded by the Officer Commanding Sector III Security zone, Wing Commander Vajira Jayawardana.
