The Asian Netball Champions, Sri Lanka led by Flight Lieutenant Chathurangani Jayasooriya is participating at the Netball World Cup 2019 which is currently underway in Liverpool England. Flight Lieutenant Jayasooriya is also the captain of the Air Force Netball Team. Two other players from the Sri Lanka Air Force, Sergeant Thilini Wattegedara, Corporal Dulanga Dananji are also playing in the National Squad.

Today (12 July) the Sri Lanka team will meet the debutants Zimbabwe at their first match of the tournament in the preliminary round of the Netball World Cup 2019. The Netball World Cup 2019 which commenced today will culminate with the finals on the 21st of July 2019.
