Today (21st July 2019) the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sumangala Dias called on the Chief Incumbent of the Asgiriya Chapter, Most Venerable Warakagoda Gnanarathana Thero. Afterwards, he called on Chief Incumbent of the Malwathu Chapter, Most Venerable Thibbotuwawa Sri Sumangala Thero as well.

Thereafter, the Commander paid homage to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth in Kandy seeking blessings on his new appointment as the 17th Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force. There, the Commander also called on the Diyawadana Nilame of the Temple of the Sacred Tooth, Mr. Nilanga Dela Bandara.

Air Marshal Dias was accompanied by his family members and several SLAF personnel as well.
