The Casualty Operating Theater which was available at the Batticaloa Teaching Hospital was renovated and upgraded to a clean Surgical Theater by SLAF Station Batticaloa. The project commenced on 14th May 2019 and was funded by Secretariat for Coordinating Reconciliation Mechanism (SCRM).

The Handing Over Ceremony of the renovated Surgical Theater was held under the patronage of the Head of the SCRM, Mrs. Sandaya Wijebandare on 26 July 2019.

The Director with the staff of the Teaching Hospital, the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Batticaloa and a cross section of service personal from Station Batticaloa participated for the ceremony.
