Air Force Commander Calls on the Commander of the Army

Air Marshal Sumangala Dias made his first formal visit to the Army Headquarters as the 17th Commander of the Air Force this morning (1 August 2019). Lieutenant Colonel Pradeep Gamage, the Commanding Officer of the Headquarters Battalion at the Army Headquarters received the Commander where he was accorded a Guard Turnout at the entrance according to Army traditions.
The Commander then reviewed a guard of honour accompanied by Major General Jayantha Senevirathne, Adjutant General of the Army. Thereafter he was welcomed to the Army Commanders Secretariat by the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake and was also introduced to the Principle Staff Officers of the Army which included the Army Chief of Staff.
After a discussion on matters of mutual interest where the Army Commander congratulated the Commander of the Air Force on being appointed to the helm of the Sri Lanka Air Force, the two Commander’s exchanged mementos to mark the occasion.
